Inov8 are specialists in developing solutions for customers, in a broad spectrum of industries, who need to measure hydrocarbons in water
We provide clients with online oil in water analysers for the purposes of overboard discharge compliance, oil leak detection in water systems, process control in water systems, and in any scenario where accurate measurement of oil content in water are required
We work with businesses across a broad range of industries including Oil and Gas, Cooling Water, Environmental, Manufacturing & Chemical Processing, Municipal Wastewater, PAH Monitoring, Marine Bilge Monitoring, Municipal Drinking Water & Offshore Wind Power.
Our online oil in water analysers are designed to provide real-time monitoring and analysis of oil content in water, which allows for quick and efficient detection of any oil leaks or spills. This is crucial for maintaining compliance with environmental regulations and for ensuring the safety and efficiency of water systems. Additionally, our analysers can be integrated into existing systems and processes, providing businesses with a comprehensive and cost-effective solution for oil in water analysis.
Which HTmodel to choose
HT405P
The 405P model is perfect for taking samples of water into a beaker and getting a direct measurement of hydrocarbons / oils instantaneously, which have a low to medium API, i.e. < 50 API. It is simple to use and supplied with surfactant to give a homogenous mix for accurate readings. This model is perfect for applications where the expectation is just for lower API oils, i.e. produced water applications.
HT280P
The 280P model is the preferred model for instant sample measurement of low and high API hydrocarbons (>50API) in water such as condensates, lighter refined hydrocarbons (diesel, naphthalene’s, etc….) and PAH’s. Its excitation wavelength is lower than the 405P and hence capable of measuring the lighter
hydrocarbons.
NOTE: This does not mean the 280P cannot also measure the lower API hydrocarbon; it can!
HT280C
The 280C model is capable of doing two different measurements, traditional solvent extraction cuvette measurement and surfactant homogenised hydrocarbon measurement. Unlike the 405P and the 280P, the 280C does not use a dipped probe for measurement, it utilises standard quartz laboratory cuvettes. So samples are placed in the cuvette and measurement. Whether you want to use traditional solvent extraction methods, or surfactant homogenised samples, it doesn’t matter, the HT280C can do either.
SpectrometryFeature
One feature that all Inov8 Systems products share, is the measurement detector that is used – a spectrometer. A spectrometer can precisely measure the specific wavelengths of light emitted by a fluorescent sample. This is crucial because different compounds fluoresce at different wavelengths, and the ability to detect the emission spectrum helps identify the chemical composition or presence of specific substances. As can be see below, different hydrocarbons will emit different spectra.
